Around The Courts: Fall League Play and a Wave of Program Graduates at Crandon Park Tennis Center
October brings continued momentum at Crandon Park, with Fall USTA League play now underway, another round of program graduations behind us, and new lighting upgrades opening up more evening court time than ever. Here’s a look at what’s been happening on our courts and what’s ahead.
Junior & Adult Tennis Highlights
Fall USTA League play is officially underway at Crandon Park, adding a strong competitive layer to our schedule and bringing great energy to the facility. Best of luck to all of our teams this season!
We also want to celebrate another wave of adult program graduates from our September 25 ceremony. Congratulations to our Love to Learn graduates: Elan Lurie, Thabata Zago, Chiara Avenia, Nina Edriss, Ana Goldmann, Gaston Squiransky, and Angelica Zolnierowicz. And congratulations to our Love to Play graduates: Luis Boccato, Jorge Barrangan, Laura Garcia, Ashley Ward, Katalin Belausteguigoitia, Melissa Li, Carlos Viganoni, and Chiara UIC. It’s been incredible to see so many players progress through our development pathway this fall.

On the junior side, our programs continue to grow with strong participation across every level. Space is still available for players of all ages and abilities, so if your junior is looking to get on court this fall, now is the time!
Looking ahead in October, our clinics continue across every level, from beginners all the way to advanced. Registration is now live for the next six-week session of Love to Learn and Love to Play, which begins October 9. Whether you’re brand new to the game or looking to continue your development, this is a great opportunity to keep building on your progress. Our full lineup of junior programs also continues throughout the month, with space available for players of all levels.
Facility Update
Great news for evening players: Courts 10 and 11 have gone through a light renovation featuring new LED lights, which means all 13 lit courts are now available for evening play. This is a significant upgrade for our facility and gives players more flexibility than ever to get on court after work, after school, or under the lights.
Coaches Tip of the Month
Keep your feet active and avoid crossing them. Great movement on the court comes from small, quick adjustment steps that keep you balanced and always ready for the next shot. Crossing your feet slows your recovery and puts you in awkward positions when the ball comes back faster than expected. Stay light on your toes, use short, quick steps to reposition, and think about maintaining your balance through every movement. Good footwork is one of the most underrated skills in tennis, and it’s something every player can improve with focused practice.
